Since 1967, UNESCO has been celebrating International Literacy Day (ILD) on 8 Sept. Instead of the traditional definition of "literacy", this year we would like to explore "digital literacy". The American Library Association defines digital literacy as: "the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.”
Both in daily life and for academic pursue, it has never been more crucial to sharpen our skills on evaluating information on the Internet in this era of data explosion and social media upraise. Learn more about digital literacy from other selected resources.
